Put on your Halloween costumes and get on your bicycles. It’s time for Bike Gaithersburg’s annual Halloween Kidical Mass ride on Saturday, October 24th at 10 am. We will begin the ride at the Kentlands Mansion located at 320 Kent Square Road. We will ride through the Kentlands neighborhood to look at decorations and listen to ghost stories. The ride will conclude at the Main Street Pavilion and Farmers Market in time for the Kentlands Downtown Parntership’s Main Street Trick or Treat event.
What is Kidical Mass?? Kidical Mass Gaithersburg aims to support families in everyday use of bicycling. Based on successful efforts in other cities, including DC and Arlington locally, the aim is to have monthly rides that are social, casually paced and FUN. We also will raise awareness of the possibilities for safer bike routes in the community and guide folks to the easiest ways to navigate the community by bike. While the ride is geared toward families, anyone is welcome to join. The rides also an opportunity to learn about equipment and resources to help make bicycling as a family safe and fun. It’s also a great way to meet other families that enjoy bicycling..
Our last Kidical Mass Gaithersburg ride of the season will be Saturday, November 14th at 10 am. It will be our annual Tweed ride. We will be visiting the Parklands neighborhood and learning more about the bicycle connections in and around that part of the city.
